Okay, so it’s like this. I’m not enrolled in KDP Select with this title, which is both limiting and frustrating, but due to the nature of this title, Select isn’t going to work, so I’m doing my own promotion.
If you have already pre-ordered, no worries. According to the sources that I looked up, you haven’t yet been charged for the book, and you will automatically get the discount price on April 28th when it releases.
I’ve gone over and over with this in my head. I was going to try several pre-promotion discount ideas and this one surfaced. Basically, what is going to happen, is I’m marking the book down to 2.99USD until release, a 40% discount! After the official release on April 28th, I’ll tell Amazon to put the price back to the normal 4.99, so depending on how long they take to get things rolling, it could be a couple hours or a couple days after release before the price returns to normal, I won’t make promises on that, but it will be available at the discounted price until the official release! By the time you are reading this, the price change should already be in the system, so head over there and get your pre-release order in before the 28th to take advantage of the discount.
While all of this is going on, help me spread the word. Let your friends know that they can get the e-book for the reduced price for a limited time only. After release, it’ll be back up to 5 bucks. Doing it this way is aparently the only way to do a pre-release promotion without the help of Amazon’s discount program, which only applies to KDP Select titles, which I’m disqualified from since I’ll be giving away several free chapters (You can get them now by checking out some of the early reviews that various blogs have done for the book).
I’ll be posting those reviews again on social media as we get closer to launch, so keep an eye on my channels to read reviews of the book and get the download link for the free chapters. The book itself includes a link to these free chapters, so you will be able to share a hefty portion of the book with your friends after release, about 50% of it, free for them to try.
I’m still out in the woods, waiting on some rain that should be coming in the next few days so I can let nature take care of my fruit trees for a little while, but I’ll be in full promotion mode in the next week or so. If you are a blogger, and would like an advance copy for review, email me at email@example.com for more information.
If you started a novel for Camp NaNo, and you don’t think you’ll be finished by the end of the month, this book could be just the kick in the butt you need to keep going on your project and finish it fast in the last couple of days, or early next month.
